Guillermo Lazo, president of Ecuador, reported on his social networks having reached an agreement with Airbus Defence & Space for the purchase of two C295 aircrafts.

According to President Lazo, the Ecuadorian Minister of Defense, Luis Lara, signed the contract for the acquisition of two C295 military transport aircraft, one of which would be destined for the Ecuadorian Army and the other for the Ecuadorian Navy.
This family of aircraft is already well known to the Ecuadorian Armed Forces, as three C295s operate in the Air Force for transport and cargo duties, the Army has two CN235s and the Navy has another two CN235s configured for maritime patrol operations (MPA).
