Southwest will extend its flight schedule through August 4, 2024: the airline has scheduled 20 new routes throughout its network, expanding its operation considerably in Florida, California and Texas.
New flights from Orlando to the Caribbean and Mexico
Southwest will be adding several new nonstop routes to international destinations. Beginning June 4, 2024, the airline will have daily flights between Orlando, Florida, and:
- Cancun, Mexico
- Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands
- Nassau, Bahamas
- Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands
- Punta Cana, Dominican Republic
- San Jose, Costa Rica
The new services complement existing routes from Orlando to Aruba and Montego Bay. By June of next year, Southwest will fly to Cancun from 17 U.S. destinations.
From the San Fernando Valley to the entire country
Southwest is the leading airline operator at Hollywood Burbank Airport, California. Beginning June 4, 2024, it will fly daily from Burbank to the following cities:
- Boise, Idaho
- Kansas City, Mo.
- New Orleans
- San Antonio
- St. Louis
East Coast to Colorado Springs
Beginning June 4, Southwest is scheduled to provide daily nonstop service between Colorado Springs and Baltimore/Washington. With this new route, the airline strengthens its network between the Northeast and the state of Colorado.
Seasonal routes from Dallas and Nashville
From Dallas, the airline will offer four additional routes, each destination will have a schedule of one weekly frequency (Saturday), the new routes are:
- Dallas (Love Field) and Buffalo/Niagara, N.Y.
- Dallas (Love Field) and Fresno, Calif.
- Dallas (Love Field) and Providence, R.I.
- Dallas (Love Field) and Spokane, Wash.
By next year, Southwest is preparing to open its flight crew base from Nashville, the airline will be scheduling new service to Bozeman, Montana with one weekly frequency and Grand Rapids, Michigan with two weekly flights.
