The deepening of the conflict in the Middle East and an uncertain outlook on its evolution has led Delta Air Lines to extend the cancellation of its regular flights between New York-JFK and Tel Aviv until November 15th. In addition, they have suspended ticket sales for this route.
On the other hand, after suspending reservations for flights connecting Tel Aviv with Atlanta and Boston at the beginning of October, the company is now moving forward with the cancellation of all flights starting from November 1st.
“Delta is continuously monitoring the rapidly evolving security environment and assessing our operations based on security guidance and intelligence reports, including the most recent U.S. State Department travel advisory,” the airline stated in a release.
“While we remain committed to assisting those needing travel, Delta will continue making schedule adjustments, including additional cancellations on a rolling basis, as needed for the safety of our customers and crew,” they added.
Delta has a flexible policy for those who purchased tickets before October 11, 2023, from or to Tel Aviv, allowing them to reschedule their flights up to September 6, 2024, or to request refunds.
Prior to the terrorist attack by Hamas on Israel on October 7th, Delta operated six weekly flights to Tel Aviv from Atlanta, three from Boston, and six from New York/JFK, offering a total of 4,563 seats per week in each direction.
Humanitarian Aid
Delta Air Lines highlighted that they have already donated one million dollars to the International Committee of the Red Cross through the American Red Cross, which will be directed to humanitarian efforts for Israelis, Palestinians, and all affected populations in the Middle East.
