Brussels Airlines begins its narrowbody fleet renewal process with the addition of its first Airbus A320neo: the airline expects to take delivery of four additional units. This model is the airline’s first factory-new aircraft in its history.
The A320neo forms part of the Belgian airline’s strategic fleet renewal plan, initially replacing A319s. The A320neo features new generation CFM International LEAP-1A engines and Sharklets. In addition, the aircraft meets the airline’s sustainability targets by reducing carbon dioxide emissions by at least 20% and reducing the noise footprint by 50% compared to other generation models.
Brussels Airlines’ A320neo has a capacity of 180 passengers. The aircraft features Airbus’ Airspace cabin, offering a modern lighting system, larger seats and more comfortable seating.
The new A320neo will join Brussels Airlines’ fleet of 43 Airbus aircraft, which has 34 Airbus A320 Family and nine A330-300 aircraft. The aircraft will be used for the company’s short- and medium-haul operations.
