Recife is in negotiations for a new direct flight to Porto, in partnership with Azul

The City Hall of Recife, in Pernambuco, through the Secretary of Tourism and Leisure, informed that an important step was taken to consolidate a direct flight to the city of Porto, in Portugal, as reported by AEROIN. Secretary Antonio Coelho led the negotiations during a meeting in the Portuguese city with the mayor of Porto, Rui Moreira, and representatives of Azul Linhas Aéreas, the company being considered to make the connection.

The meeting was attended by Federal Deputy Felipe Carreras and representatives of the Ministries of Tourism and Ports and Airports, as well as Embratur, who assigned their teams to participate in the talks.

According to the Recife City Hall, Secretary Antonio Coelho expressed his enthusiasm for the progress, highlighting the importance of the movement led by the City Hall, with the support of the federal government. He emphasized the autonomy and protagonism of the city in this effort to integrate Recife to national and international destinations, providing quality service to the population and strengthening the productive chain linked to tourism.

«We are pursuing one of the priorities set by Mayor João Campos, which is to connect Recife with cities in Brazil and the world. The Recife-Porto flight is part of this commitment and will help strengthen the cultural and historical ties between the two cities,» said the secretary.

In addition to boosting tourism, the direct link is seen as an opportunity to strengthen connections and relations from an economic point of view.
