Russia’s United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) delivered the last batch of fifth-generation Su-57 fighter jets from the 2023 production schedule to the Russian Ministry of Defense.

“The aircraft manufacturers have produced and delivered to our armed forces all fifth-generation Su-57 aircraft scheduled for delivery this year. The fighters have successfully passed all necessary factory tests. The increased production of these unique aircraft was made possible by resolving problems related to the rhythmic supply of components and improving in-line assembly technology. I believe that the KNAAZ team is facing this difficult task with honor,” said Denis Manturov, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation – Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation.

UAC reports that during 2023 an in-line assembly line of the Su-57 was set up to cope with the growing volume of aircraft serial production. Measures were also taken to eliminate bottlenecks not only in the final assembly facility, but throughout the production cycle. Problems related to the supply of high-tech components from supplier plants are being successfully resolved, and possibilities for improving aircraft assembly technology are being explored.

“The Komsomolsk-on-Amur aviation plant of UAC is accelerating serial production of Su-57s. The final assembly shop is already working on combat vehicles to be delivered to the Russian Air Force in 2024. The number of fifth-generation fighters to be delivered to troops is almost doubling every year,” said Sergey Chemezov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of UAC PJSC and CEO of Rostec State Corporation.

During the course of the coming year, several facilities will be commissioned that will contribute to the technical re-equipment, within the framework of the state program for the development of the military-industrial complex to increase the speed of serial production of the Su-57 fighter jet.
