Emirates set to operate again with its Airbus A380 on the Milan-New York route

Emirates has announced that starting from February 1, 2024, the Milan-New York route will be operated using the Airbus A380, the world’s largest passenger aircraft, replacing the Boeing 777-300ER that has been in service until now.

This change means that the United Arab Emirates airline, which regularly operates flights on the Dubai-Milan route with the A380, will now extend the service to the connection with the “Big Apple.”

The Boeing 777s were utilized to replace the A380s during the passenger cabin reconfiguration process. Another factor that may have influenced this decision is the suspension of the itinerary by ITA Airways between Milan, Malpensa, and New York.

Emirates recently celebrated the tenth anniversary of this route on October 1. According to data compiled and published by the airline, the connection has transported over 1,8 million passengers across 6,068 operated flights.
