On January 17th, an IA-63 Pampa was forced to make an emergency landing on the runway of the Military Aviation School (Escuela de Aviación Militar – EAM) in Córdoba.
For reasons that have not yet been established, the aircraft was unable to deploy its nose landing gear, which led it to start making circuits to reduce fuel.
It later attempted to unjam the gear with a maneuver known as «touch-and-go», where the aircraft forcefully touches down with the main gear on the runway and then takes off again.
After the unsuccessful attempt, the Pampa with registration A-711 headed to the head of runway 02 to land with the main gear, lose speed, and then let the nose of the plane fall, which dragged along the runway until it came to a stop.
Fortunately, both pilots were unharmed. The condition of the aircraft is unknown.
