Delta Air Lines will refresh First Class seats on select aircraft in its Boeing 737-800 fleet. The new seats, debuting in 2022 on Airbus A321neo aircraft, provide customers with greater privacy, additional storage for personal items, and a sturdier tray.
The carrier will also upgrade Delta Comfort+ and Main Cabin seats on select Boeing 737-800s, where enhanced 10-inch Panasonic seatback displays and access to Delta Studio will be available.
Externally, Delta will be upgrading the ailerons by installing split scimitar ailerons. This upgrade will save nearly 3.3 million gallons of fuel per year.
These improvements are part of Delta’s commitment to offer the best customer experience and continue to provide a high-quality premium product. Recently, The airline has completed cabin upgrades on Boeing 767-400ERs and other widebody aircraft by installing Delta Premium Select onboard. Upgrades on Boeing 757s and some widebody aircraft are forthcoming.
More premium seating on Airbus A350-900s
Delta will expand the Delta One cabin with eight additional suites on the Airbus A350-900 fleet. With these modifications, the new configuration will be 40 Delta One Suites, 40 Delta Premium Select seats, 36 Delta Comfort+ seats, and 159 Main Cabin seats. The first modified A350-900 is expected to enter service in the summer of 2024.
