LATAM Airlines will have a new route between two cities in Santa Catarina. The company will provide a direct flight departing at 11:50 a.m. from Serafim Enoss Bertaso Airport in Chapeco to Florianópolis International Airport. The same aircraft will return to Chapeco at 17:45.
«I am very happy to bring this news, which will meet a long-standing demand of those who use the aircraft to travel from Chapecó and region to Florianópolis. There is a flight every day in the morning and returns to Chapecó at the end of the day. We have businessmen and many people who were asking for these additional flights and now it will be a reality thanks to this conversation and the approach with the airline«, said Governor Jorginho Mello, Governor of Santa Catarina.
The new route between Chapecó and Florianópolis is scheduled to begin operating on June 15. Also, LATAM Cargo will provide the first international cargo flight between Santa Catarina and Europe starting in April. As a result, cargo arriving or departing Santa Catarina by air no longer has to cross another domestic airport; it will be a direct stop from Florianópolis.
«This is the result of close dialogue between the government of Santa Catarina, Alesc, the airlines and the airports, which have identified the demands and adjustments necessary for us to move forward. This announcement by Latam confirms that we are on the right track,» adds Beto Martins, secretary of the Secretariat of Ports, Airports and Railways (SPAF).
