The new branch of AirAsia in Cambodia will commence operations on May 2, 2024. The company’s initial domestic destinations will be Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, and Sihanoukville.
The low-cost airline will have its operational base at the Phnom Penh International Airport (PNH) and operate with a fleet comprising two Airbus A320 aircraft.
The first three destinations will have daily flights and are already available on the AirAsia website. To celebrate the commencement of operations in Cambodia, the airline will offer 6,000 complimentary seats for travel between May 2 and March 29, along with a promotional fare of $49 per leg, all-inclusive.
All bookings can be paid through their primary payment processing service provider: the payment gateway service of Oriental Bank, which covers a wide range of payment options, from all card schemes to the KHQR tailored to Cambodian guests.
Vissoth Nam, CEO of AirAsia Cambodia, said: «This is an exciting moment in our journey, and we are thrilled to begin painting the Cambodian sky red. As a local airline, we pride ourselves in introducing affordable fares to the Kingdom.»
«This will enhance connectivity and encourage travelers to stay longer in the country. Our vision is to transform how people travel in Cambodia and make air transportation an integral part of the country’s transportation network, offering economical fares, exceptional service, and robust connectivity, starting with these three destinations,» he added.
Cambodia joins the AirAsia network, enabling its customers to connect from any of the over 130 destinations in Asia and Australia through the hubs of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and Bangkok, Thailand.
«The timing couldn’t be better for the debut of AirAsia Cambodia, considering the significant growth in air transportation and tourism in Cambodia,» Nam concluded.
