SKY Airline has revealed its traffic projection for the upcoming Easter weekend: The Chilean low-cost airline expects that between Thursday, March 28th, and Sunday, March 31st, more than 60,000 passengers will be traveling.
The company estimates that around 17,000 passengers will utilize its routes from Santiago de Chile (SCL) to various international destinations operated by SKY Airline. Additionally, it is expected that 43,000 passengers will travel domestically.
Popular Destinations
Popular destinations within Chile for Easter travelers include Puerto Montt, Copiapó, and Calama. Furthermore, a high demand is anticipated for flights to Lima and Buenos Aires.
The Sales Manager of SKY Airlines, Jaime Fernández, stated: «Without a doubt, Easter has always been a time for travelers to rest, and this year will be no exception. According to our projections, between Thursday and Sunday, we will transport around 60,000 passengers across our national and international routes.»
Demand Analysis
According to the airline’s analysis, a demand of 6,000 passengers is expected on the route between Santiago and Puerto Montt. Segments between Puerto Montt and Balmaceda, Concepción, Punta Arenas, and Puerto Natales will require 5,000 seats.
On the other hand, flights between Copiapó and Santiago anticipate a demand of 3,700 tickets, with over 3,300 on the route to Calama. Other domestic destinations with high demand will include Iquique, Antofagasta, and Concepción, with over 3,000 estimated travelers.
Regarding the international market, SKY Airline is transporting over 4,800 passengers to Lima and more than 3,800 to Buenos Aires.
