Japan Airlines began flights to Doha

After more than 30 years, Japan Airlines returns to the Middle East with non-stop flights between Tokyo Haneda and Doha. With this new service, the airline offers multiple connections to Brazil. Europe and Africa through partner Qatar Airways.

The inaugural flight JL 59, was operated on March 31, 2024, by a Boeing 787 registered as JA872J. The aircraft took off from Haneda Airport at 23:13 local time and landed at Hamad International Airport at 05:07 the following day, after eleven hours and 54 minutes.

«Our new service to Doha is the first direct flight to the Middle East operated by a Japanese airline. Haneda – Doha flight schedule

  • Tokyo Haneda – Doha Flight JL 59 HND 22:50 – DOH 04:40+1 daily flights.
  • Doha – Tokyo Haneda Flight JL 50 DOH 07:15 – HND 23:55 daily flights.

The route is operated by Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft with 52 Business Class, 35 Premium Economy, and 116 Economy seats. Its partner Qatar Airways offers daily flights from Doha to Tokyo Narita and Osaka Kansai.

Japan Airlines is the tenth Oneworld carrier to operate at Hamad International Airport, with this new service the airline is driving greater cultural exchange and economic collaboration, benefiting passengers and industries.

Japan Airlines’ long-haul network also offers flights to Sydney, Melbourne, Delhi, Bangalore, Helsinki, Frankfurt, Paris CDG, London Heathrow, Vancouver, Honolulu, Seattle-Tacoma, San Diego, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Dallas/Fort Worth, Chicago, Boston and New York JFK.
