SAS and Apollo have signed a new three-year agreement valued at 4.5 billion SEK (~ USD 420 million), extending their strategic partnership from the summer of 2025 through the summer of 2027. This agreement solidifies SAS’s role as Apollo’s major charter operations partner in Scandinavia.

Since the spring of 2021, SAS and Apollo have been in a record-sized agreement for charter operations that lasts until 2024. The new agreement will see SAS flying Apollo’s customers to and from 15 locations in Sweden, Denmark, and Norway, to 24 destinations across Europe.

With over 400 employees and offices in Stockholm, Copenhagen, Helsinki, and Oslo, Apollo is one of the largest travel agencies in Scandinavia.

New Direct Flights to Gambia

SAS and Apollo will launch direct flights connecting Copenhagen and Banjul, Gambia, starting in November 2024. The route, to be operated by Airbus A321LR aircraft, will run for approximately five months and provide seamless connections from Stockholm, Oslo, and Helsinki. This model of aircraft is also used by SAS for long-haul flights to destinations such as New York, featuring three cabin classes: Business, Plus, and Go.

“We look forward to providing our shared customers a unique flying experience over the next three years as they board our SAS aircrafts from Denmark, Norway, and Sweden. The agreement with Apollo is an important part of our strategy to seasonally adjust our flight capacity. The new agreement with Apollo reaffirms SAS’ position as a valued partner in the charter market,” said Michael Erixon, Global Sales Director at SAS.
