JetBlue continues to expand its transatlantic network with the start of seasonal service between New York JFK and Edinburgh, the third airport the airline operates in the United Kingdom and the fourth airline to provide flights between the Scottish capital and the United States.
Flight B6 73 was operated in an Airbus A321neo registered as N2142J. The aircraft took off from John F. Kennedy International Airport at 20:35 local time last Wednesday and landed at Edinburgh International Airport at 07:50 the following day, after six hours and 16 minutes.
“Our relationship with the United States is special. Each year we welcome hundreds of thousands of visitors to Scotland and the rest of the UK from North America, which is also our main export market. This new direct JetBlue route from Edinburgh to New York will really help to strengthen the ties between our two great countries,” said John Lamont, UK Government Minister for Scotland.
There are currently 58 weekly flights between Edinburgh and the United States on four airlines. Airlines serving the Scottish capital include Delta Air Lines with services from Atlanta, Boston and New York; United Airlines Chicago O’Hare, Newark and Washington-Dulles; Virgin Atlantic from Orlando; and JetBlue from New York.
JetBlue’s European network has service to London-Heathrow, London-Gatwick, Amsterdam, Dublin and Paris-Charles de Gaulle. Its bases for transatlantic flights are Boston and New York JFK.

Flights are operated on aircraft with 160 seats in total, 16 Mint Suites and 144 in Economy. Promotional fares are from $499 roundtrip.
