Canada Jetlines has announced the temporary cessation of its airline operations, effective August 15, 2024. The decision comes after the Company was unable to secure the necessary financing to sustain its operations.
Canada Jetlines’ continued operations depended on its ability to raise sufficient funds and scale its airline to achieve profitability. Despite pursuing various financing options, including debt, equity, and strategic transactions, the Company, guided by an independent Board committee and external advisors, was unable to secure the financing required.
Prior to ceasing operations, The company had been expanding its fleet, planning to grow to six aircraft by early 2024. The airline had announced ambitious plans for the Winter 2024/25 season, including new routes from Toronto to destinations like Fort Lauderdale, Fort-de-France, and Tulum.
Support for Affected Passengers
