Cathay Pacific expands its North American network with a new service to Dallas/Fort Worth

Cathay Pacific is expanding its North American network with a new non-stop service between Hong Kong and Dallas/Fort Worth, one of the largest hubs in the Oneworld alliance, and is the first new destination in the United States since 2019. Previously, this segment was operated by American Airlines, but it suspended the route in the first quarter of 2020 due to COVID-19.

Cathay Pacific is the fourth Oneworld airline to announce flights to Dallas/Fort Worth, along with Fiji Airways, Finnair and Iberia. Other existing Oneworld airlines that have added routes or capacity to this destination include British Airways, Japan Airlines, Qantas and Qatar Airways.

“With our unique position of having deep roots in Hong Kong, being proudly part of China and connecting the world, Cathay continues to build Hong Kong as a leading international aviation hub that connects people to the most exciting places in the world,” said Lavinia Lau, Chief Commercial and Customer Officer, Cathay Group.

Cathay Pacific is also increasing its operations to North America in 2025. In May, the airline will have 108 weekly flights scheduled to North America, including three daily flights to New York-JFK, San Francisco and Los Angeles and one daily flight to Chicago O’Hare and Boston. In Canada, the airline will have two daily flights to Vancouver and 13 flights a week to Toronto-Pearson. Services to Newark, Seattle-Tacoma and Washington-Dulles remain suspended.

Cathay Pacific’s passenger route to Dallas/Fort Worth will also be supplemented by Cathay Cargo’s existing cargo services via Anchorage. To meet increasing demand during the peak air cargo season, Cathay Cargo will be operating five additional weekly flights to North America. In total, Cathay Cargo currently has up to 37 weekly flights scheduled to North America.
