Alaska Airlines has launched five new routes, further expanding its presence on the West Coast. The new services aim to meet the increasing travel demand while strengthening the airline’s operations in California and the Pacific Northwest.
«We are excited to provide our passengers with more options for their next business trip or fall getaway. These new nonstop routes also help us connect communities in the Pacific Northwest to our broader network,» said Kirsten Amrine, vice president of revenue management and network planning at Alaska Airlines.
With two new services from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), Alaska Airlines now offers more daily flights to West Coast destinations than any other carrier from the airport. The airline has resumed twice-daily service to Reno and introduced a new nonstop connection to Pasco, Washington. Both routes will be operated by Embraer 175 aircraft.
Las Vegas is now Alaska Airlines’ 39th destination from San Diego International Airport, reaffirming the airline’s position as the top carrier for nonstop destinations from the city. In addition, a new connection from Santa Rosa to Las Vegas offers Bay Area travelers an easy route to Mexico. At the same time, Las Vegas passengers gain access to Northern California’s wine country. Both routes will also use Embraer 175 aircraft.
Alaska Airlines has also resumed its nonstop route between Portland International Airport and Atlanta, offering daily service on Boeing 737-900s. Passengers traveling through Portland will benefit from the airport’s newly renovated terminal.
