Philippine Airlines expands its international network with the start of its non-stop flights between Manila and Seattle-Tacoma, now the airline operates seven destinations to North America. This inaugural service is the seventh international connection of the Seattle airport that began this 2024.
The inaugural flight ceremony was attended by Stanley K. Ng, President and Chief Operating Officer of Philippine Airlines and Sam Cho, the Port Commissioner of Seattle. In addition, Filipino cultural activities were held by the Sayaw group of the Filipino-American Student Association of the University of Washington.
Flight PR 124 was operated by a Boeing 777 registered as RP-C7778, which took off from Ninoy Aquino International Airport at 23:02 local time on October 2, and landed at Seattle-Tacoma Airport at 19:48 local time, after eleven hours and 48 minutes.
“After years of collaboration with PAL and our Filipino partners, we are truly excited to welcome this new route to our airport and community. As a vital gateway to Asia, this destination is especially meaningful to many Filipino-Americans in the Northwest. Not only does it make it easier for families to connect and reunite, but it also opens up wonderful opportunities to strengthen our trade and tourism ties with the Philippines,” said Port of Seattle Commissioner Sam Cho.
Flight schedule between Manila (MNL) and Seattle (SEA)
- Flight PR 124: MNL 22:40 – SEA 19:15 Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.
- Flight PR 125: SEA 23:40 – MNL 04:45+2 Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.
The route is operated on Boeing 777-300ER aircraft with a capacity of 370 seats in two classes: 42 Business Class and 328 Economy. Passengers can also connect through its hub in Manila to destinations such as Cebu, Davao, Bangkok, Singapore, Hong Kong and Kuala Lumpur.
Philippine Airlines began its transpacific operations in 1946, and in addition to Seattle, the airline has service to Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York-JFK, Honolulu, Vancouver and Toronto-Pearson.
Philippine Airlines’ inaugural flight to Manila is complemented by new international connections that have begun at Seattle airport, including services by STARLUX, China Airlines and Delta Air Lines to Taipei; Lufthansa to Munich; Hainan Airlines to Chongqing and Alaska Airlines to Toronto-Pearson. The Alaska route to Liberia/Guanacaste is scheduled to begin in December. New services will begin next year to Copenhagen with Scandinavian Airlines, Zurich with Edelweiss and Kelowna with WestJet.
