After two years, Emirates is returning to Nigeria with a non-stop service between Dubai and Lagos. The company suspended this route after problems with the repatriation of funds. With this addition of this destination, the Gulf carrier’s African network reaches 22 destinations, and services to Khartoum and Abuja remain suspended.
Flight EK783 was operated by a Boeing 777 registered as A6-ECA, which took off from Dubai International Airport at 10:20 local time on 1 October and landed at Murtala Muhammad International Airport at 15:20, after 7 hours and 58 minutes.
“This has been a long-awaited moment and we are excited to resume operations in Lagos, helping reconnect travelers seamlessly to and through Dubai, along with a consistent, world-class onboard experience,” said Adnan Kazim, Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer, Emirates Airlines.

The route is operated on Boeing 777-300ER aircraft in three classes: 8 First Class, 42 Business Class, and 304 Economy. This service allows connections to Europe, the United States, the Far East, and the Middle East, and will also strengthen trade ties between the UAE and Nigeria.
With the resumption of service to Lagos, Emirates is providing connectivity to Africa’s key economic hubs, enhancing bilateral trade relations between the two countries. Emirates SkyCargo will support Nigerian businesses by providing over 300 tonnes of cargo capacity to/from Lagos weekly to leading markets such as the UAE, Malaysia, Hong Kong, and Bahrain.
