Allegiant Air announced on Tuesday the largest route expansion in its history, introducing 44 new nonstop connections set to launch in 2025. According to the company, this initiative includes the addition of three new cities to its network: Gulf Shores, Alabama; Colorado Springs, Colorado; and Columbia, South Carolina.
Expanding Nationwide Coverage
Allegiant highlighted that this expansion aims to address the growing demand for low-cost flights to key vacation destinations.
“We are excited to expand nationwide, offering more travel options to our customers,” said Drew Wells, Allegiant’s chief commercial officer. According to Wells, the strategy is driven by increasing demand for affordable fares and nonstop flights, positioning the airline as a preferred choice for leisure travelers.
New Routes and Destinations
The airline will begin operations in three new airports: Gulf Shores International Airport (GUF), Colorado Springs Airport (COS), and Columbia Metropolitan Airport (CAE). Among the new routes are Phoenix-Mesa to Colorado Springs with fares starting at USD 49 and Columbia to Fort Lauderdale starting at USD 49. Promotional fares are subject to availability and can be found on Allegiant’s official website.
According to Allegiant, this expansion reinforces its focus on serving underserved communities with little to no air service, particularly during peak travel seasons such as school holidays, public holidays, and summer. The airline emphasized that its business model is designed to offer flexibility and competitive fares tailored to passenger needs.
Allegiant currently operates a fleet of 88 Airbus A320s, 32 A319s, and one Boeing 737 MAX 8. The airline has pending orders for 24 Boeing 737 MAX 8 and 24 Boeing 737 MAX 7 aircraft, along with options for up to 80 additional 737 MAX jets.
