EasyJet has announced the addition of 26 new routes for summer 2025, including 21 departing from ten UK airports. As highlighted by the company, this growth marks a significant milestone: the launch of its first connection from the UK to Sub-Saharan Africa with flights to Sal Island in Cape Verde. Of the 26 new routes, 8 will connect to cities in Spain.
Flights to Cape Verde will commence on March 31, 2025, departing from London Gatwick Airport. The route will operate three times a week during the summer season, on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
The airline also announced new routes to other destinations, such as Rimini in Italy; Almería and Málaga in Spain; and Antalya in Turkey. According to easyJet, these launches aim to expand its network in Europe and Africa, offering «more options and competitive value» to customers.
New Options from Multiple UK Airports
Several airports will benefit from new connections, including Manchester, with flights to Madrid, Rome, and Larnaca; Birmingham, with new routes to Malta and Gran Canaria; and Glasgow, which will add flights to Antalya and Reus. Additionally, Edinburgh will connect for the first time with Enfidha, Tunisia, and Marrakech, Morocco.
The expansion also includes flights from Leeds Bradford to Málaga and Palma, as well as from Belfast to Reus.
Growth in the Holiday Segment
In addition to the new routes, easyJet holidays, the airline’s package holiday division, will offer vacations to Cape Verde for the first time. Packages will include flights, accommodations in hotels —such as five-star Melia resorts—, transfers, and up to 23 kg of luggage. The company states that this offering aims to provide customers with «flexibility and unmatched value.»
