Wingo revealed at midday the final destination of its “Hidden Destination” initiative, a project that kept the location a secret for 186 passengers until landing at Punta Cana International Airport, Dominican Republic. Flight 7696 marked the beginning of an unprecedented experience in Latin American commercial aviation, according to the airline.

According to Wingo, tickets for this flight sold out in less than 24 hours after their launch last July. The offer included a full three-day package in Punta Cana, with accommodations at the five-star Breathless Punta Cana hotel, tours, meals, beverages, transfers, and a special «Corona Sunset» session organized by Corona Beer. However, the exact destination was not disclosed.

Jorge Jiménez, Wingo’s Vice President of Commercial and Planning, stated that this flight reinforces the airline’s vision as a “fresh, disruptive brand focused on creating positive and memorable experiences for its passengers”. He also confirmed that the airline plans a new edition of «Hidden Destination» for 2025, expanding departure cities beyond Bogotá.

For its part, Corona Beer highlighted its role in the experience. “The ‘Hidden Destination’ campaign perfectly reflects our philosophy of promoting moments of connection with nature» said Álvaro de Luna, Vice President of Marketing at Bavaria.

From the hospitality sector, Hyatt Inclusive Collection, operator of Breathless Punta Cana, emphasized the project’s impact. “We offer an ideal combination of entertainment in a paradisiacal setting. This collaboration with Wingo has been a unique opportunity to create sophisticated and memorable experiences,” said Matthias Hohner, Regional Commercial Vice President at Hyatt.

The Dominican Republic also celebrated this initiative as an opportunity to strengthen its position as a leading destination for Colombian tourists. According to the Ministry of Tourism, over 350,000 visitors from Colombia are expected by the end of 2024. Tammy Reynoso, Deputy Minister of Tourism Development and Promotion, highlighted that partnerships like this strengthen ties between the two nations and increase Punta Cana’s visibility as a reference destination.

Wingo plans to repeat this formula in the future, expanding its offerings and, according to their statements, aiming to «continue surprising its travelers with new experiences
