On December 1, the Spanish airline World2Fly began operating direct flights between the Alfonso Bonilla Aragón International Airport in Cali and the Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport. This new route, with two weekly flights on Wednesdays and Sundays, will be operated with Airbus A350-900 aircraft configured for 432 passengers, offering a total capacity of 1,728 seats per week. The inauguration of this new route was attended at Madrid Airport by Liliana García, Director of Procolombia in Spain, and Pascual Martínez, Senior Tourism Advisor.

Tickets, with fares starting at 325 euros per segment, can be purchased on their website, through travel agencies, and via the Amadeus platform. The service is scheduled to run until March 26, 2025, covering a key season for air traffic between the two countries.

Schedules and frequencies

World2Fly will operate the route with the following schedule:

  • Flight 2W 2093: Departs Madrid at 13:15 and arrives in Cali at 18:30, with a duration of 11 hours and 5 minutes.
  • Flight 2W 2094: Departs Cali at 20:05 and lands in Madrid at 12:05 the following day, completing a 10-hour journey.

Both flights will be available on Wednesdays and Sundays, strengthening international connectivity from southwestern Colombia.

Additionally, World2Fly competes in a market between Colombia and Spain, which in 2023 recorded a total of 1,661,939 passengers across the main routes operated by Avianca, Iberia, LATAM, Air Europa, and Plus Ultra Airlines.
The airline primarily focuses on tourist destinations such as Cancun, Punta Cana, and Havana, operating with a fleet of four Airbus A350-900 and one Airbus A330-300. With its new route to Cali, the company not only strengthens its presence in Latin America but also diversifies its offerings, which include less conventional destinations like Uzbekistan and Zanzibar. Furthermore, World2Fly has a subsidiary in Portugal connecting Lisbon with Caribbean destinations.
