Avianca Increases Capacity in Guatemala

Avianca restarted scheduled flights to Guatemala in September, and due to an increase in demand it had to rearrange its capacity and add more frequencies.

Initially Avianca offered four weekly flights to El Salvador, but in October added one weekly flight to Bogota (Colombia), 4 weekly flights to Los Angeles and 4 more weekly flights to El Salvador.

Avianca will complement this offer with flights via its San Salvador hub to Managua (Nicaragua), San Pedro Sula (Honduras), Mexico City, Miami, New York, Washington, San Francisco and Los Angeles. And through its Bogota hub to cities such as Quito and Guayaquil in Ecuador, Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro in Brazil, and Santa Cruz de la Sierra (Bolivia).

Since September 19 Avianca moved more than 2,000 passengers from Guatemala

“We see that the Guatemalan market begins to show greater demand and that allows us to expand our operation. We have positive expectations for this month and we hope to win the preference of passengers to travel with us”, said David Alemán, General Director for Avianca in Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean.
