Russian Helicopters, part of the Rostec corporation, signed an agreement with UTair to supply 50 Mi-8AMT helicopters. The agreement was signed at the International Aviation and Space Show MAKS 2021 and foresees to deliver helicopters from 2022. UTair is the largest Russian helicopter operator.

Andrei Martirosov, CEO of UTair, announced that it is planned to use these helicopters to transport passengers and cargo for the oil industry, mainly in Rosneft’s Vostok Oil project. «We fly most of our flights with heavy helicopters in difficult weather conditions without giving up the highest level of safety. UTair already operates more than one hundred helicopters of the modern Mi-17 family, and the new helicopters will be an important part of our management fleet plan,» Martirosov said.

The Mi-8AMT can carry up to 27 passengers or 4 tons of cargo, either inside the cargo compartment or in an external basket. Mi-8AMT helicopters are used in cargo and passenger transport, fire fighting, medical services, and search and rescue. A large number of accessories are available for these operations.
