As announced, Spirit Airlines will inaugurate flights between Miami and Bogota, Colombia, starting October 6 with a daily frequency. Operations will be carried out on Airbus A320-200s, configured with 182 seats in a single class.
This will be the U.S. carrier’s first route to the Colombian country from Miami International Airport. The airline currently operates to and from Orlando and Fort Lauderdale.
Continuing with the development of its international hub in Miami, Spirit will add new routes to Colombia. According to its reservation system, the company will fly to Barranquilla and Medellin on Airbus A320s, while Cali will be served by Airbus A319s.
According to current information, Medellin will begin on October 6, while Cali and Barranquilla will start on November 17. All three routes will have seven weekly flights.
