    This Friday (23), Viva Aerobus resumed operations at Toluca Airport (TLC) with three new services to Merida (MID), Cancun (CUN) and Monterrey (MTY). All these routes will have daily flights.

    Hugo Alberto Delgado Ortega, General Director of TLC and Viva Aerobus executives were present at the celebration. According to data obtained by Aviacionline through Cirium, the low-cost airline will offer 7,812 seats per week in 42 operations in Toluca (TLC) to three domestic destinations.

    The carrier’s first service was flight VB 4030 which took off from General Mariano Escobedo International Airport (MTY) at 06:07 local time and landed in Toluca (TLC) at 07:08.

    While flight VB 9246 was operated in an Airbus A320neo registered with registration number XA-VIV, which took off from Manuel Crescencio Rejon International Airport (MID) at 10:41 local time and landed at Toluca International Airport (TLC) at 12:13. This inaugural service was welcomed with the traditional water arch, and later this same aircraft was prepared to make a flight to Cancun (CUN) which left completely full.

    According to data compiled by Aviacionline through the Federal Civil Aviation Agency (AFAC), 55,490 passengers were mobilized in 408 air operations in the month of July in Toluca (TLC).

    «The restart of Viva Aerobus operations to Monterrey and Cancun, as well as the launch of the Merida route in this air terminal, will be for everyone a gateway to growth and development opportunities for the State of Mexico and the metropolitan area of the Valley of Mexico, serving as a connection area between the capital of the State and the world», said Delgado Ortega, General Director of TLC.

    With the restart of operations in Toluca (TLC), Viva Aerobus becomes the second Mexican operator to offer services from the three airports in the metropolitan area of Mexico City, completing its offer from AIFA and AICM. In addition, on November 14, another route from TLC to Puerto Vallarta (PVR) will begin daily flights.

    «With the restart of our operations in Toluca, we mark a new stage of air connectivity for the Metropolitan Zone of the Valley of Mexico. With our operations at AICM, AIFA and AIT, we strengthen the Metropolitan Airport System in response to the growing demand in the region for the benefit of passengers,» said Juan Carlos Zuazua, CEO of Viva Aerobus.

    According to AFAC data, Viva Aerobus is the second largest domestic operator in Mexico, the company has mobilized 9,494,406 passengers and 264.1 tons of cargo in 8,524 operations between January – July 2022.

    • Flight VB 9245 TLC 08:00 – MID 10:00 daily flights.
    • Flight VB 9246 MID 10:40 – TLC 12:50 daily flights.
