Air France KLM Group has appointed Pia Lackman as General Manager for Argentina, Bolivia, Paraguay and Uruguay, effective August 1, 2021, based in Buenos Aires. Born in Helsinki, Finland, but settled in Buenos Aires during her teenage years and early professional career, Pía Lackman has a track record of more than 30 years in the tourism and aviation industry and a solid knowledge of the Argentine airline market.
«It is a great pleasure for me to return to Argentina, the country where I had the opportunity to graduate from high school and university, and where I started my career with Air France KLM Group. My priority is to work together with the local teams to offer our customers better and better services for their travel to Europe and around the world. We will also work to further promote Argentina and the region as a tourist and business destination while developing the local presence of Air France and KLM. With Argentina and the region being strategic markets for the Group, our ambition is to provide more and more travel options for everyone,» he said.
Lackman began his career with KLM in Argentina in 1994, in the Sales Department. After serving in various senior leadership positions for KLM and then Air France KLM in different countries, such as Country Manager KLM Brazil and then Commercial Director Brazil Air France KLM, Country Manager Panama & Central America and Country Manager Chile, which allowed her to develop extensive experience in Sales, Marketing, HR, Finance, Alliances and commercial aviation, she now returns again to Argentina in the position of General Manager Air France KLM.
Pía Lackman will be responsible for further developing Air France KLM’s product and service offering in the region, contributing to the recovery of the local airline market, the connectivity of Argentina and the development of the country as an international tourist and business destination.
