LATAM requests to resume operations at Aeroparque Jorge Newbery Airport

LATAM Airlines informed today that it has requested formal authorization from the Argentine authorities to operate international flights from Aeroparque Jorge Newbery in Buenos Aires, days after it became known that it also intends to do so at Mendoza airport.

Both operations will complement those it already has at Ezeiza International Airport.

The company’s intention is to start operating from Aeroparque to Lima, Santiago de Chile and Sao Paulo as from October 1, and from Mendoza to Santiago de Chile and Sao Paulo as from October 18. Everything will depend on the approval of the Argentine government.

According to the airline’s reservation system (but not confirmed by LATAM since it depends on the authorizations), there may be flights to Santiago on Fridays on A320 (from 01/10), to Lima on Mondays on A321 (from 04/10) and to Sao Paulo on Wednesdays on A320 (from 06/10). This may be subject to change.

In the last few days there were rumors regarding a potential reopening of Argentina’s borders to foreign tourism as of October 1st, but the political shake-up unleashed after Sunday’s electoral defeat might have led to postpone any kind of announcement in this regard.
