Aerolíneas Argentinas incorporates two Airbus A330-200s

On September the 23rd, Aerolíneas Argentinas retired its first Airbus A330-200 from the fleet, which arrived in the country in 2013. The aircraft had the registration LV-FNI, and was more than 20 years old.

When the departure of the aircraft was announced, Aerolíneas Argentinas informed that it planned to incorporate two Airbus A330-200s by the end of the year. The registrations are LV-KAN and LV-KAO, and they are currently in Santa Bernardino carrying out the painting and refurbishment of the cabin interior, which includes changes in the in-flight entertainment software and mood lighting, re-upholstery of the seats, carpets, signage and general adaptations according to Aerolíneas Argentinas’ standards of use and safety.

The first, with registration LV-KAN, will arrive at Ezeiza International Airport between Friday and Monday and is scheduled to enter service during the first week of December. Additionally, the second one, with registration LV-KAO, will arrive during the second week of December and will start flying during the first days of January.

According to information obtained by Aviacionline, Aerolíneas Argentinas plans to remove three Airbus A330s from the fleet in 2022 (LV-FNJ, LV-FNK and LV-FNL).

  • LV-FNJ: preserved – not operating for more than one year.
  • LV-FNK: extended contract until April 2022. Could be retired next year.
  • LV-FNL: extended contract until April 2022. Could be retired next year.

Clarification: the retirement of these aircraft is not related to low demand, it was programmed.
