Mexican Carriers Announcements at the “Tianguis Turístico” 45th Edition

The “Tianguis Turístico” is the most relevant event in the Mexican Tourism sector and a business forum based on pre-established appointments between Buyers and Exhibitors.

This year, the event took place in Mérida, Yucatán, since Nov. 16 until Nov. 19.

“Aeroméxico Vacations”

Aeroméxico announced the transformation of its “Gran Plan” brand to “Aeroméxico Vacations”, as part of its strategy to continue offering the best travel options.

According to the Mexican airline, when customers purchase travel packages at “Aeroméxico Vacations”, they will have other benefits such as accumulation of Premier Points, exclusive promotions with Aeroméxico cards and preferential prices rates in the best hotel chains in the country, among others.

Aeroméxico also seeks to enter the luxury segment and strengthen its offer in the segments where it has been operating.

To achieve this, it will initially work with more than 200 travel agencies allies and PriceTravel Holding, one of the most important tourist groups in the market will be its technology provider.

In an initial stage, Aeroméxico Vacations will offer travel packages in all national destinations where it operates and will promote the internationalization of the brand.

During November, Aeroméxico will carry out more than 13,600 flights that add up to an offer of more than 1.9 million seats in its domestic and international operations on 80 routes and will continue to increase frequencies offering more and better options of products and services that improve the experience of trip.

Recently, the Mexican carrier announced its expansion of operations at the International Airport of the Mexico City, where it will also offer flights from Terminal 1 as of Dec. 11.

Viva Aerobus Celebrates Its 15 Years and Announces New International Route

Within the framework of the 45th edition of the 2021 “Tianguis Turístico”, the Mexican Secretary of Tourism, Miguel Torruco Marqués, gave Viva Aerobus a recognition for its contribution to the air connectivity of Mexico in its 15-year history, which is celebrated this Nov. 30.

The Ministry of Tourism also congratulated Viva Aerobus for its participation as an official sponsor of the 2021 “Tianguis Turístico” for the Mexican tourism benefit.

According to a press release, Viva Aerobus celebrates its 15th anniversary at a time of historic growth and leadership, having carried more than 80 million passengers since its founding in 2006 and showing a strong revival in demand in a pandemic context.

As known, Viva Aerobus was positioned in March 2021 as the first Mexican carrier to exceed pre-COVID-19 passenger traffic, a trend that has maintained in the last eight months with more than one million passengers transported per month.

The Mexican ultra-low-cost carrier will conclude this 2021 with 55 Airbus aircraft, being the youngest fleet in Mexico, considering the four aircraft it will receive in the last two months of the year.

Viva Aerobus also recalls that this year it has already launched 11 new routes, 5 domestic and 6 international.

At the event, Viva Aerobus announced its new route between Cancun and Bogotá route that will begin on Dec. 16.

Last August, Viva Aerobus landed for the first time in Colombia with its Mexico City – Bogotá route and now, the Mexican ultra-low-cost carrier launched its second route: Cancun – Bogotá.
