LATAM will once again connect Rio de Janeiro to Lima

LATAM Airlines will resume operations between Lima (LIM) and Rio de Janeiro (GIG) on March 29, 2022. This route had been suspended since March 2019, when the pandemic crisis broke out.

The Peruvian capital becomes the second international destination offered by South America’s largest airline in Rio de Janeiro (GIG). Moreover, the airline has reactivated November 2021 the route to Santiago de Chile (SCL). In conclusion, LATAM will offer 19 international destinations in Brazil.

Flight schedule between Lima and Rio de Janeiro

The route will operate three weekly frequencies on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays with Airbus A319 aircraft with a capacity of 140 passengers in two classes and Airbus A320 aircraft with 176 seats in two classes.

  • Lima (LIM) 11:15 a.m. – Rio de Janeiro (GIG) 18:20 p.m.
  • Rio de Janeiro (GIG) 19:10 – Lima (LIM) 23:00

International reactivation from Brazil

LATAM has already resumed the route between Rio de Janeiro (GIG) and Santiago de Chile (SCL) with 7 weekly frequencies from November 2021.

Additionally, from its main hub in São Paulo – Guarulhos (GRU) it offers 19 international destinations including: Santiago (SCL), Lima (LIM), Buenos Aires – Ezeiza (EZE), Buenos Aires – Aeroparque (AEP), Mendoza (MDZ), Montevideo (MVD), Asuncion (ASU), Bogota (BOG), Mexico City (MEX), Frankfurt (FRA), Paris (CDG), Lisbon (LIS), Madrid (MAD), Barcelona (BCN), Milan – Malpensa (MXP), London – Heathrow (LHR), Miami (MIA), New York (JFK) and Orlando (MCO).
