Volotea continues to expand its schedule for the northern summer season, the low-cost airline will launch a new base in France and new routes to Spain, Greece, France, and Italy.
7th base in France
Volotea continues to strengthen its operations in France, opening a new base in Lille (LIL) on April 1. The airline will soon become the main operator at Lesquin Airport (LIL) and will also soon announce new destinations to several European destinations.
The Low-Cost airline started its operations in Lille (LIL) in 2015 with 5 connections, Volotea records every year a significant increase in its offer and in the number of passengers.
In 10 years of operation, the company has mobilized almost one million passengers to and from Lesquin Airport (LIL) and has always shown remarkable growth in the company’s existing network in France. Therefore Volotea this year will offer 3 times more destinations than in 2012, aiming to meet demand in Hauts-de-France.
The company plans to offer more than 490,000 seats to and from its new base and plans to create more than 30 direct and 25 indirect jobs in Lille (LIL).

By 2022, France will already represent 49% of the company’s activity, where it expects to offer more than 5 million seats, 54% more than in 2019. Volotea currently has bases in Nantes (NTE), Lyon (LYS), Bordeaux (BOD), Strasbourg (SXB), Marseille (MRS), Toulouse (TLS) and now Lille (LIL).
New Routes
Seville (SVQ) – San Sebastián (EAS)
From April 8, Volotea will offer two weekly flights (Tuesday and Thursday), Volotea will have an offer of 24,000 seats on this route.
The airline will have an offer of 246,000 seats from Seville Airport: 75% more than in 2019. Volotea will offer four destinations including Asturias (OVD), Bilbao (BIO), Santander (SDR), and now San Sebastian (EAS).
Bordeaux (BOD) – Florence (FLR)
From May 27, the company will offer two weekly flights (Monday and Friday), Volotea will have an offer of 14,000 seats on this route.
With this new route, the Low-Cost airline will offer four destinations in Italy including Venice (VCE), Cagliari (CAG), and Olbia (OLB). This Volotea will have a network of 19 destinations from Bordeaux (BOD).
Malaga (AGP) – San Sebastian (EAS)
From April 8, the company will offer two weekly flights (Tuesday and Friday), Volotea will have an offer of 19,000 seats on this route.
From Malaga (AGP) the company for the summer season will have an offer of 345,000 seats, 41% more than in 2019. The new connection to San Sebastian (EAS) joins the three domestic destinations offered by Volotea at Costa del Sol Airport (AGP). Those are: A Coruña (LCG), Asturias (OVD) and Bilbao (BIO).
On international routes, the airline offers from Malaga (AGP) five international routes to Bordeaux (BOD), Lyon (LYS), Nantes (NTE), Toulouse (TLS), and Venice (VCE).
Bilbao (BIO) – Athens (ATH)
From May 27, the company will offer two weekly flights (Thursday and Sunday), Volotea will have an offer of 12,168 seats on this route.
In 2022, the airline in Bilbao (BIO) will offer 523,000 seats, 88% more than before the pandemic, from this destination the airline will offer flights to Cagliari (CAG), Naples (NAP), Porto (OPO) and Venice (VCE) in the international, its domestic network will consist of the following routes: A Coruña (LCG), Alicante (ALC), Castellón (CDT), Ibiza (IBZ), Palma de Mallorca (PMI), Málaga (AGP), Menorca (MAH), Seville (SVQ) and Valencia (VLC).
