Conviasa received today its first Airbus A340-600 as part of the company’s fleet expansion, the aircraft is registered with the registration number «YV3533», has a capacity of 308 passengers in two classes and an average age of 20 years.
The new aircraft landed at Maiquetia International Airport (CCS) from Tehran, Iran. This A340-600 previously belonged to operators Mahan Air and Virgin Atlantic.

The Venezuelan state-owned airline expects to receive an extra A340-600 and another A340-500 model for government use.
New destination in Mexico
Conviasa will be the first international carrier to fly to Santa Lucia Airport (NLU) serving Mexico City with a connection from Caracas (CCS) starting March 21, the inaugural flight will be operated by the Airbus A340-600.

- Caracas – Santa Lucia Flight V0 3726 CCS 10:00 – NLU 13:00
- Santa Lucia – Caracas Flight V0 3727 NLU 16:00 – CCS 23:00
Currently, the company offers flights between the Venezuelan capital and Cancun (CUN) with a frequency of twice a week operated in Embraer E190.
