During the last hours of Tuesday in Toulouse (TLS), France, ITA Airways’ first Airbus A350-900 was spotted sporting its metallic blue livery.

ITA Airways agreed with Air Lease Corporation (ALC) and Airbus for eight Airbus A350-900s and with ALAFCO for four more.

Most of the aircraft were to be delivered to Capital Airlines, Hong Kong Airlines, and Hainan Airlines, but for various reasons, they will not be delivered.

According to the image recorded by aeronautical photographer EuroSpot, it is the Airbus A350-900 with construction series number 270 (F-WZFT) that was to be delivered to Hong Kong Airlines, which in turn belongs to Air Lease Corporation.

Given the advanced painting process of the aircraft, ITA Airways will soon receive it to adapt the pilots and cabin crew prior to its first flights to Los Angeles (LAX), USA, and Buenos Aires/Ezeiza (EZE), Argentina. Both flights will start in June with one daily operation and five weekly flights respectively.

Then, from August 1, the third destination for the model will be Sao Paulo (GRU), Brazil, with four weekly flights.

The aircraft will be configured with 33 seats in business class and 301 seats in economy class, according to the ITA Airways website.

The company’s current fleet consists of 18 Airbus A319s, 30 Airbus A320s, and seven Airbus A330-200s. In addition to the A350s, it has an order for seven Airbus A220-100s, fifteen A220-300s, 19 A320neo, 20 A321neo, and fifteen A330-900s.
