Viva Aerobus received its 56th aircraft, the first of 2022. It is an Airbus A321neo registered XA-VBX, with a capacity of 240 passengers.
The aircraft arrived at Monterrey International Airport on Saturday, February 26 at 6:10 p.m. from Hamburg, Germany, on a flight with stopovers between Keflavik, Iceland, and Bangor, United States.
Viva Aerobus currently has twenty Airbus A320ceo, twenty Airbus A320neo, eight Airbus A321ceo, and eight Airbus A321neo, with an average age of five years. The airline expects to receive another 10 aircraft in 2022.
The airline stated that the increase in aircraft is part of its growth strategy, in addition, they reduce costs through the aircraft model (A321neo), as it has greater efficiency in fuel consumption, reaching up to a 20% reduction.

The company added 18 aircraft since 2019 and has 37 A321neo pending delivery. Airbus A320ceo/neo aircraft account for 63% of the company’s seat supply, the other 37% are Airbus A321ceo/neo, according to data obtained by Aviacionline through Cirium.
In 2022 the Mexican low cost has launched 3 new routes: Cancun-Medellin, Mexico City-Medellin, and Mexico City-Nuevo Laredo; and has also increased to 2 daily flights its Mexico City-Bogota route.
In 2021, the company opened 7 domestic and 7 international routes. Those included landing in Bogota and Medellin in Colombia and Harlingen in the United States.
Viva Aerobus transported 14,386,297 passengers in 2021, 26% more passengers than in 2019, positioning it as the second-largest Mexican carrier, according to the Federal Civil Aviation Agency. Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications, and Transportation.
