As part of its expansion plan, Argentina’s first low-cost carrier Flybondi will ramp up its flight offer for the winter season, as it receives additional Boeing 737-800s.
Flybondi continues with its 2X Plan, announced in December 2021, to reaffirm its position as the second most important airline in Argentina in terms of passenger movement and fleet.
The ultra-low-cost closed 2021 with 887,532 passengers, a 59% recovery compared to the same period of 2019 when it had mobilized 1,513,927 travelers. Although the last quarter of last year represented the first real growth since the beginning of the pandemic, exceeding by 4.93% the number of customers mobilized compared to 2019.
The company began to retire the Boeing 737-800s that gave life to Flybondi for aircraft of lesser age, reducing from 22 to 15 years the average age of its fleet.
Current aircraft, with registration LV-HKN, LV-KAH, LV-KAY, LV-KCD and LV-KCE, were delivered in June 2019, July 2021, September 2021, January 2022, and March 2022, respectively.
According to data obtained through ANAC Argentina, during the first quarter of 2022 Flybondi showed signs of growth, closing with 408,380 passengers and occupancies of 94%, a 7,02% increase when compared with the same period of 2019. At the beginning of March, it transported its 4 millionth passenger.
In the process, they landed in Ushuaia (USH) and as from August, El Calafate and Comodoro Rivadavia will be added; at the same time, it will expand the frequencies of its current routes. To accompany the growth, two additional aircraft will arrive between April and May, and before July, three more aircraft will arrive.
According to the company’s reservation system, Flybondi’s flight offer per destination will increase significantly in the upcoming months:
