La Compagnie inaugurated last April 15 a direct connection between Milan/Malpensa (MXP), Italy, and Newark (EWR), United States, on Airbus A321neo (LR) aircraft seating 76 passengers.
«The Italian market offers a great opportunity for our company, but also a great challenge that we want to win in terms of quality of services both on the ground and in flight,» said Christian Vernet, CEO of La Compagnie.
The French airline specializes in operating flights with aircraft configured 100% in Business Class. It currently links the Big Apple with Paris/Orly (ORY) and Nice (NCE) with its two Airbus A321neo.

This aircraft features an interior layout for 76 passengers in a 2-2 configuration with fully reclining seats and a 15-inch screen entertainment system.
«The Milan-New York route has always been one of the most important routes for inbound and outbound traffic and a highly competitive route between carriers,» continued Vernet.
The executive explained that it will seek to focus on the corporate traveler with an innovative product and competitive pricing.
For the ground experience, all La Compagnie passengers have access to the lounge at each departure airport. In addition, a quality personalized shuttle service to and from the airport is available.

La Compagnie will compete directly with United Airlines, which has a daily flight on Boeing 767-300ER aircraft.
Indirectly, from John F. Kennedy Airport (JFK) in New York it will compete with American Airlines (one daily flight), Delta Air Lines (twelve weekly flights), Emirates (one daily flight), ITA Airways (one daily flight) and NEOS (two weekly flights).
Data collected through ENAC indicate that prior to the pandemic the Milan – Malpensa – New York sector was the second-largest long-haul market in Italy, handling 1,018,956 passengers.
The second-longest commercial route of an A321neo
According to data obtained by Aviacionline through Cirium, with a duration of 8 hours 20 minutes one way and 9 hours 10 minutes return, the flights between Milan and Newark become the second-longest commercial link by an Airbus A321neo when covering 6,453 kilometers.
Currently, Scandinavian Airlines System (SAS) with its connection between Copenhagen and Washington (D.C.) is in first place at 6,553 kilometers in 9 hours 15 minutes.
La Compagnie is analyzing the addition of the XLR version of the A321neo, which would allow it to reach markets such as Miami (MIA) or Chicago (ORD) and even China and India from Milan or Paris.
