Nuevo Laredo adds a new carrier
After more than a decade, a new company provides connectivity to the border city of Nuevo Laredo. Aeromexico Connect is currently the only operator at the airport, with a daily flight to Mexico City on Embraer 190 aircraft.
Aeromar also operated between November 2011 and February 2012 with flights to Ciudad Victoria (CVM), as well as Mexicana Click, a subsidiary of Mexicana de Aviacion, operated with Fokker 100 until August 2010.
According to data obtained by Aviacionline through Aeropuertos y Servicios Auxiliares (ASA), in 2021 Nuevo Laredo mobilized 53,921 passengers, 17.64% less than in 2019. During the period when Aeromexico and Mexicana de Aviacionline were operating, the airport exceeded 115,000 passengers per year, so the arrival of Viva Aerobus reactivates optimism about its future.
