Air Canada set a date to resume flights to Lima (LIM), Peru, from Montreal (YUL) and Toronto (YYZ), replacing its low-cost parent Air Canada Rouge.
According to a new update to the Cirium reservation systems and aeronautical intelligence platform, the Canadian carrier will resume flights to Toronto (YYZ) as of November 1, 2022, with three flights per week, and to Montreal (YUL) on October 30 with two flights per week.
Both routes will be operated on Boeing 787-9 aircraft, with a capacity of 298 passengers, giving it an offer of 2,980 seats per week.
During 2019, Air Canada Rouge operated Boeing 767-300ER aircraft, with capacity for 282 passengers, offering 3,948 seats on seven weekly flights. In that period, it mobilized 173,099 passengers with an occupancy rate of 81%, according to DGAC Peru.

With the re-entry into the Peruvian market, Air Canada now operates in South America to Buenos Aires/Ezeiza (EZE), Argentina; Sao Paulo/Guarulhos (GRU), Brazil; Santiago (SCL), Chile; and Bogota (BOG), Colombia. At the time of writing, Quito (UIO) in Ecuador and Cartagena (CTG) in Colombia do not have a return date.
According to data obtained by Aviacionline through Cirium, by December 2022 the Canadian airline would recover 99% of seat supply in the region compared to the same period in 2019.
