Aeroméxico inaugurated three new regular scheduled routes from Felipe Ángeles International Airport (known as AIFA), which serves Mexico City, to Guadalajara (GDL), Monterrey (MTY) and Oaxaca (OAX). On all three of them, the company will use Embraer 190 aircraft with eleven seats in Clase Premier and 88 seats in Economy.

Mexico City (NLU) – Guadalajara (GDL)

The airline offers fourteen weekly frequencies in both directions and around eleven thousand seats per month. Thus, Guadalajara became the second city served by Aeroméxico from AIFA in the state of Jalisco. Last May 1st, the company inaugurated operations to Puerto Vallarta (PVR), with 21 weekly frequencies.

The services are in addition to those already operated from Mexico City International Airport (MEX). Customers now have an additional option when it comes to choosing the one that best suits their travel plans.

«It is key for Aeroméxico to continue with the strategic plan to connect AIFA with all of Mexico by strengthening and increasing routes and frequencies», said José Zapata, the company’s VP of Sales Mexico. «Today is a special day for us, as we start operations in one of the most iconic and important cities in the country, Guadalajara», he added.

Aeroméxico now offers seven weekly frequencies in both directions and 1.386 seats per week between Mexico City’s new airport and the capital city of Nuevo León. The flights are operated by Aeroméxico Connect.

Mexico City (NLU) – Oaxaca (OAX)

Since last Monday, the airline operates seven weekly frequencies in both directions. On average, the number of seats on offer will increase by 2.980. The flights are operated by Aeroméxico Connect.

This way, it already offers flights from Mexico City to three cities in the state of Oaxaca. It also connects the national capital with Bahías de Huatulco (HUX) and Puerto Escondido (PXM).

Strengthening the network from Felipe Ángeles International Airport

Aeroméxico is currently in the process of strengthening its network and inaugurating services at the new Mexico City airport. The company will double the number of seats available at the terminal this month, compared to the start of its operations there last March.

From August 15th, it offers connections to six domestic destinations: Acapulco (ACA), Guadalajara (GDL), Mérida (MID), Monterrey (MTY), Oaxaca (OAX) and Puerto Vallara (PVR).

According to data obtained by Aviacionline through the Cirium platform, Aeroméxico will be the airport’s largest airline operator in August, with a 41.7% share of the domestic market. The company will offer up to 13.132 seats per week.

However, it has deprogrammed operations between Felipe Ángeles International Airport and Villahermosa (VSA). On the other hand, it will not yet start its flights between the new airport and Cancún (CUN), initially scheduled to begin on August 15th.
