Canada: Air Transat and Porter Airlines sign a codeshare agreement

Air Transat and Porter Airlines will commence a bilateral codeshare partnership. This agreement is available on Porter Airlines domestic flights to and from Halifax (YHZ) and Toronto/Billy Bishop (YTZ), and on select Air Transat services to and from Montreal (YUL).

“We are delighted that our codeshare agreement with Porter Airlines is taking off. Our respective networks are highly complementary, with Porter serving Toronto and Halifax, and Air Transat serving some 15 countries,” said Michèle Barre, Air Transat’s Vice President, Networks and Revenue.

“Connecting passengers in two of our most important markets, Toronto and Halifax, with Air Transat’s European and North American network is a great benefit. This is just the beginning, as we intend to expand Porter’s own network to create many more travel opportunities between our two airlines,” said Kevin Jackson, executive vice president and chief commercial officer of Porter Airlines.

Air Transat will place its “TS” code on Porter Airlines flights between Toronto/Billy Bishop (YTZ) and Halifax (YHZ) to Montreal (YUL). Travelers will be able to connect to destinations served by Air Transat via YUL. This winter, services to and from Paris (CDG) and Lisbon (LIS) will be available, as well as other domestic and several southern destinations. Connections to the United States will be implemented later this year.

In a next phase, Porter Airlines will use its “PD” code on select flights operated by Air Transat between Montreal (YUL) and its network in Europe, the United States and Canada. This process is subject to government approvals.

The codeshare flights are currently on sale through Air Transat’s regular channels and website. They will be available for booking beginning November 2, 2022.
