Aerolíneas Argentinas Boosts Holiday Weekend Traffic: Over 230,000 Passengers Expected

Aerolíneas Argentinas has confirmed that it will transport over 230,000 passengers this 4-day holiday weekend across its entire flight network and destinations.

In terms of its domestic network, the company sold 182,000 tickets for travel between May 24 and 29. In addition, over 27,000 tickets have been sold for regional flights. The remaining tickets are distributed between the U.S., Inter-America, and Europe.

High Flight Occupancy Rates

The average flight occupancy is around 89%, although this rises above 96% in typical tourist destinations. The top choices among passengers include Bariloche, Iguazú, El Calafate, Ushuaia, Córdoba, Mendoza, Salta, São Paulo, Tucumán, Neuquén, Rio de Janeiro, Santiago de Chile, Comodoro Rivadavia, Jujuy, San Martín de Los Andes, and Mar del Plata.

It’s noteworthy that several federal routes, such as Iguazú – Salta, Bariloche – El Calafate, Córdoba – El Calafate, and Mendoza – Salta, are at full capacity.

Operational Peaks and Additional Flights

The peaks of operation will be reached between Thursday afternoon and Friday morning, with over 41,000 passengers transported.

“These are once again excellent figures, with high occupancy, additional flights, and an expanded offer. These long weekends are very important for the tourism industry due to the great movement they generate throughout the country,” said Pablo Ceriani, President of Aerolíneas Argentinas.

Throughout the weekend, with the reinforced operation in place, the company will reach a seat offer increase of up to 10% compared to 2019.
