Avianca expands its international operations in Ecuador with the start of non-stop service between Quito and Cancun. The company will have more than 4,000 seats available per month and the new destination adds to the airline’s network of 11 international routes in Ecuador.
Avianca plans to resume flights from Cartagena to Sao Paulo and Santiago de Chile
Flight AV 7394 was operated onJune 15 by the Airbus A320 registered as HC-CJV, which departed from Mariscal Sucre International Airport (UIO) at 07:45 local time and arrived at Cancun International Airport (CUN) at 11:17, after three hours and 32 minutes.
The Mexican embassy in Ecuador notified the opening of appointments for the visa application process for July, August and September 2023, giving the option for more Ecuadorians to have the possibility of traveling to Cancun.

Flights are operated in Airbus A320 aircraft with a capacity of 180 passengers and promotional fares are available from 192 USD round trip.
According to data obtained by Aviacionline through the Federal Civil Aviation Agency (AFAC), in the period between January and April 2023, 24,765 passengers were mobilized between Ecuador and Mexico with an occupancy factor of 67.6% in 223 operations, representing an increase of 100.4% compared to the same period in 2022. Avianca currently competes in this market with Aeromexico and Viva Aerobus.

Avianca currently offers non-stop international flights from Quito to Bogota, San Salvador, San Jose, Buenos Aires, Medellin, New York and Cancun. From Guayaquil to Bogota, San Salvador and New York. The domestic operation has services to the cities of Quito, Guayaquil, San Cristóbal, Baltra, Cuenca and Manta.
In addition to the airline’s operations between the Ecuadorian capital and the main city of Quintana Roo, Avianca also offers flights from Bogota, Medellin, San Salvador and San Jose, Costa Rica to Cancun.
