Mexico: Delta Air Lines schedules flights to Tulum

Delta Air Lines is the first international airline to announce a nonstop service to Tulum’s Felipe Carrillo Puerto International Airport. In late March, the airline will introduce service from its main hub at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.

Delta’s daily Atlanta-Tulum service will begin March 28, 2024 and will be available year-round. The route will be operated on Boeing 737-800 aircraft with 160-seat capacity, offering First Class, Delta Comfort+ Main Cabin.

«Delta is uniquely positioned to offer customers convenient, direct access from the U.S. to Tulum, a premier leisure destination known for its boutique hotels, Mayan ruins and eco-friendly spirit. We know that customers bound for Tulum will enjoy the elevated experience Delta consistently delivers – and now without a two-hour drive from Cancun – as we grow our footprint in Mexico and throughout the Yucatan region,» said Joe Esposito, vice president of Network Planning.

Tulum represents an attractive destination for Delta’s extensive global network. Service from Atlanta will offer connections from 100 U.S. cities giving travelers more options for their vacations. For next year, Delta customers will enjoy the longest spring schedule in Mexico, as the airline will offer 10% more seats on nearly 55 daily flights to eight cities.

Delta partner Aeromexico will be one of the first Mexican airlines to fly to Tulum from Mexico City International Airport, the Mexican airline’s main hub that will also provide multiple connections to the United States and Mexico.

The Delta-Aeromexico partnership by the end of 2023 will have a schedule of more than 90 daily flights between Mexico and the United States on nearly 60 routes, enhancing cross-border connectivity between the two countries through an extensive network.

The Felipe Carrillo Puerto International Airport is expected to open in December of this year.
