On October 15, Viva Aerobus received at the Monterrey International Airport Terminal its 79th aircraft, which stands out for being the first Airbus A321neo in Mexico configured with the new Airspace cabin.

The Airspace cabin configuration package has been designed to optimize space and passenger community by integrating new features:

  • New lighting scenarios to benefit the ambience.
  • Carry-on baggage compartments with a 40% larger capacity allowing up to 60% more luggage to be stored than in the previous configuration.
  • Toilets with improved lighting, anti-microbial surfaces.
  • Redesigned entrance area with improved lighting and an even more modern look.
  • Windows: improved integration of window curtains allowing a full exterior view and also, additional windows in the rear section of the aircraft allowing more natural light to enter the cabin.

The aircraft, registered XA-VXN, took off from the Airbus factory in Hamburg, Germany with stops in the cities of Keflavík, Iceland and Bangor, USA. This delivery flight used a 10% Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) blend. This is the second delivery of a Viva Aerobus aircraft employing SAF.

Thanks to this new Airspace configuration, we are taking the comfort and interior design of our aircraft to the next level so that both passengers and crew can enjoy flying in Mexico’s youngest and most modern aircraft, and at low prices. We will continue to work to enrich the travel experience from start to finish,” said Juan Carlos Zuazua, CEO of Viva Aerobus.

This year, Viva Aerobus has taken delivery of ten new aircraft, bringing its fleet to 79 Airbus units: 45 Airbus A320s and 34 Airbus A321s, with another 21 deliveries pending.
