Azul starts today (16/01) the sale of tickets that will connect its main hub, the Viracopos airport in Campinas, inside São Paulo, to the city of Bariloche, located in the north of the Argentine Patagonia, in the Andean lakes region.
The route, which had not been operated since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, is part of the company’s traditional winter network and will be inaugurated on June 30, 2024. Before the pandemic, the company also flew from Campinas and Belo Horizonte to Buenos Aires, but the Argentine capital still does not have a scheduled return date, as reported by our associated media in Brazil, Aeroin.
Customers wishing to make the trip can already purchase their tickets on Azul’s website, call center, or associated travel agencies. The new flight will be operated by A320neo aircraft, with a capacity to carry up to 174 passengers.

Azul Viagens, Azul’s tourism operator, will also offer exclusive packages on flights to Bariloche. “We are going to develop packages that offer selected hotels with a complete tour of the Argentine city, with various entertainment options. Many Brazilians dream of visiting the neighboring country and we are attentive to the wishes of our Clients,” said Giulliana Mesquita, senior Product Manager of Azul Viagens.
The flight will depart from the Viracopos airport on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays at 10:00 to arrive in Bariloche at 14:30. The return will be at 15:50, landing in the Brazilian city at 20:15.
Initially Azul will compete with Aerolíneas Argentinas, whose schedule on Cirium indicates that it will have a daily flight between Bariloche and Sao Paulo/Guarulhos. However, it is expected that, as in the winter season 2023, LATAM Airlines will also join to fly the same route.
