At 11:02 p.m. on January 1st, Flybondi’s inaugural flight from Buenos Aires/Aeroparque arrived at Mar del Plata’s «Astor Piazzolla» airport, marking the arrival of the ultra low-cost airline in the main tourist center of the Atlantic coast of Buenos Aires. The service was carried out with the Boeing 737-800 registration LV-KJD incorporated to the fleet last September.
Flybondi will operate until March 3 four weekly flights between Buenos Aires and Mar del Plata, on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays at night (depending on the day it varies between 23:00 and 0:20), with an estimated flight time of 55 minutes.
«We are very happy to reach Mar del Plata, since its launching we detected a great interest in the route. Each new destination encourages us to continue working hard so that the freedom of flying becomes bigger and bigger», said Federico Pastori, Flybondi’s Chief Commercial Officer, who highlighted that they offer a «simple, friendly service with the best fares in the market».

As can be seen in the booking system, at the time of this publication, fares for January are available starting at ARS 32,489, while in February there are fares starting at ARS 20,527, to which additional fares such as cabin or checked baggage and seat selection must be added (official selling dollar today: USD 1 = ARS 828 / free dollar: USD 1 = ARS 1,025).
Regarding the competition, Aerolineas Argentinas fares for February start at ARS 28,759 (including hand luggage up to 8 kg and seat selection), while bus tickets start at ARS 25,000.
Mar del Plata joins Flybondi’s network, which from Buenos Aires (Aeroparque and Ezeiza) covers nationally Bariloche, Comodoro Rivadavia, Córdoba, Corrientes, El Calafate, Puerto Iguazú, Jujuy, Mendoza, Neuquén, Salta, Santiago del Estero, Posadas, Puerto Madryn, Tucumán, Trelew and Ushuaia; and internationally, Florianópolis, Río de Janeiro and Sao Paulo.
