After receiving the necessary approvals to begin nonstop service between Felipe Angeles International Airport (AIFA) and Houston-Intercontinental, Aeromexico scheduled a second U.S. destination, opening a route to McAllen, TX, from Mexico City’s Felipe Angeles International Airport – AIFA.
On February 1, the Mexican airline began flights to the border city, located just north of Reynosa. Flight AM 2782 was operated by an Embraer E190 registered as XA-GAH. The aircraft departed Felipe Angeles Airport at 15:38 local time and landed at McAllen-Miller Airport at 16:47, after one hour and 9 minutes.

Currently, 45% of South Texas passengers use the McAllen airport to reach their destinations. McAllen Airport handled 946,246 passengers in 2023, a 10% increase over pre-pandemic levels.
